പാച്ചല്ലൂർ ക്ഷേത്രത്തിൽ ഭദ്രകാളി ദേവിയും അസുര ചക്രവർത്തിയായ ദാരികനും തമ്മിലുള്ള യുദ്ധത്തിന്റെ പുനരാവിഷ്കരണം നടത്തിയാണ് എല്ലാ വർഷവും നേർച്ചത്തൂക്ക മഹോത്സവം ആഘോഷിക്കുന്നത്. കൊടിമരം മുറിക്കുന്നതാണ് ചടങ്ങുകളിൽ ആദ്യത്തേത്. ആർപ്പുവിളിയും, ചെണ്ടമേളവും, ആചാരവെടിയുമൊക്കെ ആയാണ് ഉത്സവം തുടങ്ങി എന്ന് നാട്ടുകാരെ അറിയിക്കുന്നത്.

ഒരു മാതൃകാ ഹിന്ദു ഭവനം

പൂജാമുറി ഉണ്ടാകണം. അല്ലെങ്കിൽ യോഗ്യമായൊരു സ്ഥലം അതിനായി നിക്കിവയ്ക്കണം. ദിവസവും ഏതെങ്കിലും ഒരു സമയം കുടുംബാങ്ങങ്ങൾ ഒരുമിച്ചിരുന്ന് നാമം ജപിക്കണം. തുളസിത്തറ ഉണ്ടായിരിക്കണം. എല്ലാ ദിവസവും നിലവിളക്ക് കൊളുത്തണം. ഹിന്ദു ദേവിദേവന്മാരുടെ ചിത്രങ്ങൾ വീട്ടിൽ പ്രദർശിപ്പിച്ചിരിക്കണം.

കന്നി അയ്യപ്പന്മാരുടെ വ്രതാനുഷ്ഠാനങ്ങള്‍

ഒരു കാലത്ത് ആയ് രാജ്യത്തിന്‍റെ തലസ്ഥാനമായിരുന്ന വിഴിഞ്ഞം, പതിന്നാലാം നൂറ്റാണ്ടില്‍ വേണാടില്‍ ലയിക്കുന്നതിനു മുന്‍പ് ആ പ്രദേശത്തിനു ചുറ്റുമായി വിരാജിച്ചിരുന്ന അറുപത്തിനാല് ശൈവസങ്കേതങ്ങളില്‍ മുഖ്യമായ ഒന്നാണ് പാച്ചല്ലൂര്‍ ശ്രീ ഭദ്രകാളി ക്ഷേത്രം. പതിന്നാലാം നൂറ്റാണ്ടില്‍ വിഴിഞ്ഞത്തിനടുത്ത് ആവ്വാടുതുറയില്‍ ജീവിച്ചിരുന്ന പ്രസിദ്ധ കവി അയ്യിപ്പിള്ള ആശാന്‍ രചിച്ച

ക്ഷേത്രങ്ങളിൽ തൊഴേണ്ട രീതി

കൈകൾ പൂമൊട്ടിന്‍റെ രൂപത്തിൽ ചേർത്ത് നേർ നെഞ്ചിന്‍റെ മദ്ധ്യഭാഗത്ത് വച്ച് തൊഴുന്നതാണ് (മുകുളിതപാണി) യഥാർത്ഥ രീതി. കൈകൾ ഇളകാതെ താമരമൊട്ടിന്‍റെ ആകൃതിയിൽ നെഞ്ചോടു ചേർത്ത് വയ്ച്ചു അടിവച്ച് അടിവച്ച് ദേവെന്‍റെ സ്തോത്രങ്ങൾ ഉച്ചരിച്ച് രൂപം മനസ്സിൽ ധ്യാനിച്ച് ക്ഷേ(ത പ്രദക്ഷിണം നടത്തണം. ഗുരുവിന് മുന്നിലെന്ന പോലെ, എണ്ണക്കുടം തലയിൽ വയ്ച്ചുകൊണ്ട് അതു തുളുമ്പി കളയാതെ എന്നവിധം, മന്ദമന്ദം ഓരോചുവടും വച്ചുവേണം ക്ഷേ(ത പ്രദക്ഷിണം നടത്തേണ്ടത്.

ഭക്തിയിലും ആത്മീയതയിലും മാത്രമല്ല സാമൂഹികപരമായ കടമയും നിര്‍വഹിക്കുന്ന ക്ഷേത്രങ്ങളില്‍ ഒന്നാണ് പാച്ചല്ലൂര്‍ ശ്രീ ഭദ്രകാളി ക്ഷേത്രം. കേരളത്തിലെ, പ്രത്യേകിച്ച് തെക്കന്‍ തിരുവിതാംകൂറിലെസാമൂഹിക പരിവര്‍ത്തനത്തിന് മാതൃകയാകുക എന്നാ ചരിത്രപരമായ കടമയും ഇവിടുത്തെ ആചാരനുഷ്ടാനങ്ങള്‍ക്കുണ്ട്.
